Night Before Christmas Campaign - Toy Appeal
The Night Before Christmas Campaign provides a wealth of support for families on low incomes to help with christmas presents for their children and food for christmas dinner. It also provides essential items to the homeless, gloves hats etc as well as foodbank donations.
We donated £1000 to the campaign, and were thrilled to be able to present the cheque in person, in Morrisons Ayr where they are based
In November 2015, a 12 year old girl from Annbank asked her mum if every child got a Night Before Christmas Box like her. Her mum, Jodie McFarlane, explained “not every child is as lucky as she is, some children don’t get anything at Christmas time”.
They collected and distributed 90 boxes with only weeks to spare before Christmas. In 2016, Jodie and Isabella continued their Night Before Christmas campaign and made it their mission to spread the Christmas spirit beyond Annbank and Ayrshire.
Karen, pictured left, the BDE who recomended The Night Before Christmas Campaign did some additionally voluntary work with the charity after visiting to make the donation,
I helped them on Friday morning and learned they were struggling to collect donations from Poundland, 30 miles away.
I went to collect them on Friday night and discovered they had two pallets and wouldn’t fit in my car.
So I arranged with a friend who has a van to go get it yesterday and my children and I helped go and collect it and then unload it for them at their end. Was great fun xxx

Cash for kids pushed extra hard this year to help children that need it most across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk this Christmas, after many families have forced into financial crisis and hardships due to lockdown restrictions. We donated £500 worth of toys to the scheme run by Radio Forth 1 in Edinburgh, the toys were delivered by Suzy Carter, the Business Development Regional Manager in Scotland, and her family.

As an important part of the charity work we’ve done this year we wanted to give to various food banks around the country - Not only has food bank usage risen in recent years, the number of people foreced out of work due to lockdown restrictions has been staggering. With team members all around the country, we reached out and asked them to highlight local services in need, or that were particularly close to their heart. Find out more about their services, some information about what they do, and some of the amazing feedback we received from our donations.
Dawdon Youth and Community Centre serves the local community by offering high quality, free (or low cost) services and activities that improve people's quality of life. The Centre is open 79+ hours over 7 days, providing a welcoming place for 450+ individuals and groups, local residents of all ages, children and young people to meet each week.
We donated £1000 to the community centre, to help with both their toy appeal, and their food bank, to allow them to continue helping those from the local area in need over the holiday season.
St Davids Cardiff has been running a toy appeal in conjunction with Capital FM South Wales for several years now. In 2020 they made an extra push for people to pick up an extra toy while Christmas shopping, due to the number of families who have struggled to find work, and through various hardships this year.
We wanted to donate ourselves to assist with the amazing work they are doing and tasked one of our elves with delivering £500 worth of toys.
